Another Year

Well, yet another year has come and gone and a new one is upon us. Like every new year, I find it difficult to come to grasp with the ongoing progression of time. Can you believe that it has been 10 years since Y2K? Remember when people were predicting the end of the world at midnight, January 1st, 2000? And here we are 10 years since. Amazing. Every New Year’s Day I’m reminded of one of my favorite sentences in Holy Scripture: Lamentations 3:22-23. It goes like this: “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness!” And those same mercies are new every year. Here’s to the grace of God and second chances!
